New Year, new post!! As 2022 begins I’m full of all the hope + excitement for what my seventh year in business will bring. There is a lot to share, including the launch of Kyle Kelley Programs + the first photography education opportunity, the Big Camera Membership, happening THIS month. I’m also looking forward to the completion of the KKP Studio + having a cozy place to shoot in + offer to all the beautiful Milwaukee families. I first started shooting studio sessions in 2018 + have adored the chance to give a warm, bright, clean space for families who feel their house just doesn’t get as much natural light as they’d hope for their session. As a Milwaukee newborn + family photographer, I’m eager to begin photographing growing families + sharing this unique boutique experience with them.

Momma + Her Boys | A Very Cozy In-Home Newborn Session on Film | Kyle Kelley Photography | Milwaukee Newborn Photographer

As the temperatures continue to drop + the snowflakes begin to fall here in the north, I figured what better time to share this cozy in-home newborn session from this past winter than now?! Whether we’re in the KKP Studio or your home by the fire, one of the pros to being a Milwaukee newborn photographer in the winter is that it’s always warm + snuggly during newborn sessions!! These four sure knew how it’s done!!

This family is very near + dear to my heart. I have had the honor of working with them since big brother was growing in momma’s belly!! We have been through Motherhood Sessions, Newborn Sessions + a bunch of Family Sessions throughout the last three years! It was such a joy to meet the newest member + capture this new family of four!!

Newborns will forever be the heart + soul of KKP!! Being a Milwaukee newborn photographer is one of the greatest joys. Studio Milestone Session on Film | Kyle Kelley Photography | Milwaukee Newborn + Family Photographer | Film Photography | Baby Photographer

If you haven’t heard it before, let me say it one more time — one of my absolute favorite sessions to photograph are the milestones but without a doubt, the sitting age (around 6-9 months)!! Why?? For plenty of reasons, but mostly because your little one is well out of the newborn state + a personality has evolved. Your baby is not only wide awake + ready to be in the spotlight, but your session will consist of lots of baby smiles + giggles. Secondly, there is a CHUNK of baby fat on your little one. Photographing all the baby rolls, hand dimples + chubby cheeks is just too good to be true! Lastly, at this age, your baby is sitting up, which means we can get a wide variety of images + most importantly, they're not quite on the run yet so the session is sweet, simple + QUICK!

This session with little Graham took place back in my Memphis Studio. Ever since the move to Wisconsin, I have been very focused on being a mom + homemaker, with limited work toward KKP, but as we settle into our house + continue to create our home it’s time to now put the focus on the KKP Studio. We are in the works of creating the space on the second floor of our home. It gets all the natural light even on a cloudy day + I have plans to share the process with you through the KKP Newsletter! A Sweet Little Miss | In-Home Newborn Session on Film | Kyle Kelley Photography | Milwaukee Newborn Photographer

It’s been exactly one year since I blogged my very first film session. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been working with film cameras for a little over two years + there’s no stopping me now!! This is the direction KKP is continuing on + I hope to one day only be working with film as my medium.

It’s always nerve-wracking as a creative to put yourself out there with a new idea or new way of working. There’s no telling how people will adjust to the changes I make with my business, whether in a positive light or with criticism, so it has been overwhelmingly joyful to have such a kind reaction to working with film. I can understand why clients may be wary of choosing a film photographer to capture their family, especially with the energetic toddlers, but that is something I love most about using film while shooting. I have to truly get the moment locked in so that your image is crisp + in focus. So, when working with my film camera I’ve enjoyed getting to see how parents love on their children while waiting for me to snap the perfect shot! It makes the session all the more magical + intimate!

Speaking of new business ideas, this fall I’m excited to share some big news with this little KKP community! Of course, I’m nervous as all get out but very eager to show you what I’ve been working on!! STAY TUNED + while you hang around, enjoy this sweet in-home session on film!!
